Staff Positions

Leadership

Camper Consultant

Point of contact for parents and responsible for addressing camper issues. Maintains camper registrations and keeps accurate records. Organize campers into cabins and do the camper registration on opening and closing days. Maintain all incident reports and child reporting paperwork. Comply with all child protection laws. (Minimum 21 years old of age) Education or Social Work experience with Word, Excel and Web-based database skills preferred.

Dining & Kitchen Supervisor

Ensures all health & sanitary regulations are being followed. Maintains camper meal count records. Supervise all dining & kitchen employees. (Minimum 21 years of age) SafeServe certification and experience supervising others in a camp or institutional food service setting required.

Health Center Manager/Registered Nurse

Responsible for the oversight of care/treatment of staff and campers. Oversight of the dispensing of camper medications. (Minimum 21 years of age) RN or PA license in New Jersey required.

Health Center Assistant/Licensed Practical Nurse

Assist in care/treatment of staff and campers. Assist in giving out camper medications. (Minimum 21 years of age) RN, LPN or PA license in New Jersey required.

Konduit Supervisor

Responsible for overseeing the Konduit program, the Junior Staff Discipleship Program of Star Lake Camp. Works in developing leadership and Christian fellowship skills in the 15-17 year old staff through worship, life skill activities and discipleship modules. (Minimum 21 years of age) Two years of experience in Christian teen ministry preferred

Spiritual Development Counselor

Responsible for the planning of the spiritual component of camp by serving and empowering campers and staff spiritual needs. (Minimum 21 years of age) Two years of experience in Christian children and young adult ministry preferred.

Village Leaders

Schedule and Supervise counselors and program in Hilltop and Village. (Minimum 21 years of age) Camp counselor and supervisory experience. CPR & first aid certifications preferred.

Waterfront Director

Responsible for waterfront safety. Supervise all lifeguards. Administer strict water safety program, enforcing all safety rules. Oversight of all waterfront equipment. (Minimum 21 years of age) WSI, Lifeguard, CPR for Professional Rescuer and First Aid certifications, and previous experience as a lifeguard required.

Program Staff

Arts and Crafts Specialist

Responsible for the planning and instruction of the camper craft activities & materials. Maintain craft lodge in an orderly manner. (Minimum 18 years of age) Directing children in activities preferred.

A/V Tech Support Specialist & A/V Tech Videographer/Photographer Specialist

Responsible for Daily videos, Camp photos, Keys for Kids AV needs, oversight of camp social media, website, and AV equipment. (Minimum 18 years of age) Experience with some aspects of video editing, photography, sound mixing, lighting design, and website design is preferred.s

Christian Education Specialist

Responsible for spiritual development of campers through daily Keys for Kids chapel times. (Minimum 18 years of age) Two years of college religious studies preferred.

Adventure Challenge Course Specialists

Responsible for the planning and instruction of the adventure challenge course elements. Enforce safety rules to all at adventure challenge courses. Maintain adventure challenge course equipment. (Minimum 18 years of age) Previous Ropes Course experience preferred. Certification for camp adventure challenge course required.

Literacy Enrichment Specialist

Responsible for implementing Star Lake Camp’s Bookmarks literacy enrichment program, utilizing Pieces of Peace curriculum promoting a love of reading. Maintain library books and Bookmark area. (Minimum 18 years of age) Professional educator preferred.

Lifeguard Program Staff

Carefully monitor all individuals under your supervision at the lake. (Minimum 18 years of age) Lifeguard certification, CPR for Professional Rescuer, and First Aid certifications required. Assisting with program needs as needed.

Marksmanship Instructor

Responsible for planning and instruction of archery and air riflery program activities. Maintain archery & air riflery shed in an orderly manner. (Minimum 18 years of age) Archery and Air Riflery certification required.

Nature Education Specialist

Responsible for the planning and instruction of the camper nature study and other activities that increase awareness and appreciation of God’s creation. Maintain Nature Lodge in an orderly manner. (Minimum 18 years of age) Experience directing activities with children preferred.

Program Logistics Specialist

Assist the Program Director with the supervision of program and program equipment. (Minimum 18 years of age) One year of camping experience preferred.

Sports & Recreation Specialist

Responsible for the planning and instruction of the camper athletics & sports and recreational equipment. Maintain athletics lodge in an orderly manner. (Minimum 18 years of age) Experience in directing children in activities preferred.

Staff Activities Coordinator/Staff Lounge

Oversees all functions of the Staff Lounge including canteen, and staff activities. (Minimum 21 years of age) Two years camp experience.

COUNSELING STAFF

Counselors (most important job on camp!)

Responsible for camper care and wellbeing. Encourage campers to participate in all areas of the camp program, & provide them with a consistent, positive, Christian example. (Minimum 18 years of age) Experience working with children required.

Food Service Aides

Food Service Aides

Complete all food service tasks assigned by Food Prep/Kitchen Supervisor and/or Dining Room Supervisor, primarily cold food preparation, picnic lunches and food line service. (Minimum 15-17 years of age Greater New York Salvationist) This position is a part of our Konduit Junior Leadership Staff training

Support Staff

Health Center Coordinator

Supports the nurses in the overall running of the Health Center. Assist with office duties, cleaning and watching sick campers as assigned. (Minimum 18 years of age) No experience necessary. Studies in health professions preferred.

Maintenance Assistant/Driver/Housekeeping

Help support the camping program and Camp Director by maintaining and cleaning the campgrounds and facilities, moving, and setting up equipment and helping around the campgrounds as needed. (Minimum 21 years of age) Valid driver’s license required.

Secretary

Assist Office manager with clerical duties. (Minimum 19 years of age) Experience answering phones, faxing, and copying preferred.

Staff Kid Counselor

Provide care and supervision for staff children. (Minimum 18 years of age) Experience working with children preferred.
